Ascent
The Ascent, Subaru's largest vehicle, is a three-row crossover with 7 or 8 seats depending on how you order it. Subaru's flagship comes standard with a bevy of equipment including Subaru's Eyesight safety suite. It's the largest of any Subaru by length, width, and height. An advanced 2.4 liter turbo engine powers all models, delivers 26 highway mpg, and tows 5,000 pounds. Priced from the mid 30s to the high 40s.

Outback
The Outback, Subaru's largest vehicle after the Ascent, is a "midsize crossover." It offers the room and capability of a traditional sport ute but rides on a car chassis (instead of a truck frame). It is longer and wider than Impreza, Crosstrek, and Forester, though the Forester is slightly taller. With a 2.5 liter four cylinder, Outback boasts 33 mpg highway. It is also available with a whip-like 2.4 liter turbocharged engine. Priced from the low $30s to the mid $40's.

Forester
The Forester, a "compact crossover," shares a chassis with the Crosstrek, but is a little taller, wider, and longer. Forester gets 33 mpg highway, and is also available with a turbocharged engine. Priced from the low 30s to the mid 40s.

Crosstrek
The Crosstrek has the underpinnings of an Impreza so it shares the Impreza's basic dimensions. Subaru gave the Crosstrek unique bumpers and grill, aggressive silver/black alloys, wheel arch cladding, black rocker spoilers, and privacy glass. With almost nine inches of ground clearance, think of it as a mini-monster truck that gets 33 mpg highway. It is the only Subaru available with a hybrid powertrain. Solterra
The Solterra, first introduced in 2023, is Subaru's first-ever all-electric vehicle. A 1.21 gigawatt* battery pack powers one electric motor at the rear axle and one at the front. It is surprisingly quick, rushing to 60 mph in only 6.5 seconds. It's a "compact SUV," about the size of a Forester, and it can go over 200 miles on a charge. With 8.3" of ground clearance, almost as much as the 8.7" in the Ascent, Forester, and Outback, you can take the Solterra anywhere you would take any other Subaru. Subaru's popular StarTex animal- and earth-friendly seating surfaces are standard in the higher trims. Solterra production is very limited as Subaru ramps up battery-electric vehicle production to meet demand, but we sell so many that we get a disproportionately large share of them from Subaru.
* We're just kidding about this particular data point. 1.21 gigawatts was the output of the Delorean in "Back to the Future." In fact, it has 215 horsepower.

Impreza
The Impreza is Subaru's not-so-compact car, available as a sedan or hatchback, in trims from functional to sporty to luxurious. Priced from the low $20s to the low $30s.

Legacy
The Legacy is a sedan built on the same platform as the Outback. It is a full size car, comparable to a Toyota Camry or Honda Accord, but with all wheel drive and the most interior room in its class. With the 2.5 liter four cylinder engine, Legacy returns 35 mpg on the highway and is also available with a turbocharged engine. Priced from the high $20s to the low $40s.
WRX
The WRX has a turbocharged, 2.4 liter, 271 horsepower engine, with a 0-60 time about 5 seconds. Priced from the upper $20s to the upper $30s.

STI
Subaru stopped manufacturing the The STi with the 2021 model year, but has hinted at a future electric STi. You can still buy them used, with a 310 horsepower, 2.5 liter turbocharged engine, like a WRX with 'roid rage. The STi reaches 60 mph a few tenths of a second quicker than the WRX.

BRZ
The BRZ is Subaru's sports coupe. The "B" stands for Boxer engine, the "R" stands for Rear-wheel drive, and the "Z" stands for Zenith (as in the highest point of an astronomical object). It is the only rear-wheel-drive vehicle in Subaru's line-up. Available with a six-speed manual or Subaru's first six-speed automatic transmission, the BRZ won't carpet bomb the drag strip like a turbocharged WRX, but will thrill you in the corners.
